Answer for Background Score - 49
This piece is from Chatri Chor or Blue Umbrella. Composer - Vishal Bharadwaj. It is the main blue umbrella theme. The main melody on bass heavy bansuri cleverly suggests the seductive beauty of Umbrella, layered with cute piano runs for the ecstacy of people owning it. The same piece appears in different arrangements throughout the movie. Fortunately, the soundtrack CD of the movie has all the background score pieces in it.

Answer for Background Score - 48
This piece is from Kanda Naal Mudhal. Composer – Yuvan Shankar Raja. This is the main flute theme of the movie which Yuvan beautifully puts to use throughout the movie maintaining and adding to the light and feel-good factor in it. After Nanda, I think this is the movie where Yuvan used flute to the maximum for all kind of emotions.

It illustrates with far too few examples, and too many technical details of music but nevertheless a good read.
